Passion to work for Elders

I have been in social sector for last three years, after leaving my corporate job of 15 years. I wanted to do something different and for others, wanted to give back to the society and the nation what ever I could.

I joined social sector and since then working for the cause of Elderly and less fortunate childrens. The area of Senior Citizen's is one of the most neglected segment in India and in most of the Country. The raising population of Elders is something to be happy and worry. There is not enough infrastructures to address problem of Elderly. Government and the society itself have done little to improve the condition of the Senior Citizens.

But now there is some awareness, and things are slowly moving.

Lot to be done for the Elders in the area of Health, Homes, Finance, Laws, Infrastructure, socail security, Psychosocial care etc.........

Alzheimer's and Dementia is growing and out of the total Elderly population of 6% to 7 % in India, 3% to 4% are suffering from it. This needs immediate attention from all of us.

I have experience in Project Management, Marketing and Web based work and would like to gain more experience and learning for Elder Care and in field of Dementia. Iam interested in further training, internship, short term project with regards to Elders.

I have formed a Forum "People for Social Cause" and also created the blog to address the social issues and the problem faced by seniors. Also in this way want to connect to all the like minded people in India and all over the Globe.

You can write to me at people4sc@gmail.com and extend your support.

Forget yourself for others, and others will never forget you.
