World Hospice and Palliative Care Day

Bhaktivedanta Hospital is pleased to invite you for World Hospice and Palliative Care Day on 11th October’08.

Palliative Care is offered to terminally ill patients along with their families by a multi-disciplinary team when the patient has incurable diseases like in the case of Cancer, AIDS, CRF, etc…

Most of such patients are deserted & disregarded by their own families and the society at large. We render a helping hand by offering free services to spend their remaining life free of pain & misery and help them to lead a life with dignity and happiness.

Our hospital has been silently offering such services for the last 15 months in and around Mumbai suburbs and it has been well received. Over 100 terminally patients and their families have benefited by our services. It is First of its kind in Thane District and Western Suburbs of Mumbai.

The program schedule is as follows:

6.00 pm – 6.15 pm: Chanting of holy mantra to invoke auspiciousness.

6.15pm – 6.45 pm: Presentation on palliative care

6.45- 7.00 pm: Patients & relatives talk

7.00 pm to 7.15 pm: Chief Guest talk

7.15 pm to 7.30 pm: Prize & certificate distribution for Trained Volunteers

7.30 To 8.00 pm: A short drama on palliative care.

Kindly accept our humble invitation along with your family and encourage our team of medical and Para-medical staff who are relentlessly involved in this yeomen service.

Yours sincerely,

Dr Avnish Panday
