Times Foundation is conducting the ‘Concern Planet Celebrating World Environment Day 2008’ , in collaboration with National Bal Bhawan on the 4 th June, a day before World Environment Day.
The aim of the workshop is to impress upon students that the environment belongs to each and every one of them and is central to their existence. It is hoped that this workshop would introduce to students the idea of considering the environment as a social responsibility of each and every one of them.
The event would be of half-day duration and would include a presentation by a prominent speaker from civil society, on adventure sports that require natural outdoor settings. The talk and a short film on outdoor sports would aim to educate children about the role and importance of nature and help children establish a bond with nature.
There will also be a quiz on environmental change to involve the children more effectively in the event, which would end with the distribution of certificates for winners and participants.
