Times Foundation signed an MOU with SNDT’s Women’s University on 14th December 2007 for the establishment of Times Centre for Youth Development and Research at Palghar,near Mumbai.
This Centre willl be responsible for imparting education and training in Fine arts, Life Sciences, Dramatics, Personality Development, Counselling, Languages, Music, Vocation ,etc. specifically targeting YOUTH.This is specifically for women.The other attraction of this centre is that it will be able to cater to around 40 nearby villages through its outreach interventions.This would be perhaps the first time that Times Foundation Mumbai through its collaboration with SNDT, would be venturing into massive outreach to the poor and marginalized rural women.
Vision of the Centre:
University Centre for Youth Development and research will empower Youth to identify and develop their DREAMS (Dynamic, Realizable Efforts to Attain and Maintain Success) and own their future.
Mission of the Centre :
The centre will do this by enhancing the lives of youth by expanding the learning opportunities available to them, pointing the way to a future full of hope and working together to create that future. The focus of the programs is technology training, which will be provided in a safe and congenial environment. In addition to this, the Youth would be trained in Fine Arts, Sports, theatre, and in Computer Basics.
